Eidfjord was for a long a hidden secret and until 2006, when it was put on the map by Norwegian climber Andreas Spak (founder of Rjukan Adventure) and Canadian climber Will Gadd, only a handful of routes had been climbed in this Norwegian ice climbing Mekka. Eidfjord is by many considered to be the best ice climbing area in the world, with probably the world's largest concentration of big ice routes up to 500 meters long, tons of unclimbed routes and a stunningly scenic combination of fjords and mountains.

Rjukan Adventure offers private guiding in Eidfjord, winter 2010/2011, and a unique opportunity to explore one of the last areas with great possibilities for doing first ascents of world class ice routes. Our goal is to do at least one first ascent together with our clients.
The routes we climb are between 200 and 300 meters long with vertical sections, so clients must be confident in following on steep ice. Before we head out to climb the big rigs we will spend one day "warming up" on a shorter route, practicing important stuff such as transitions on belays, rescuing techniques and awareness.
With our private guiding packages we take care of the practical stuff, such as accommodation, food, transport and equipment, leaving you to focus on what is most important, climbing world class ice!
